Marsat Gaayad in Northern Morocco is an exposed beach break that offers highly consistent surf year-round. It works best with a northwest swell and offshore winds from the east or southeast. The spot picks up a reliable mix of groundswells and windswells that break over a shifting, raw sandy bottom, with the most consistent clean waves firing during the winter months from November through March. Crowds are virtually non-existent to mellow, providing a wild, remote, and highly uncrowded lineup alternative for surfers looking to escape the busier metropolitan peaks further south.
