Wishing Well is a shallow, reef-influenced right-hand break that comes alive on north and northwest swells, producing clean, fast, and often barreling waves when solid winter swell arrives. It is usually small or inactive on weaker swell and needs size to really work, but its sheltered position helps keep conditions clean when swell is present. The wave breaks hard over sharp coral and reef, making it best suited for experienced surfers, and the lineup can get tight when it’s firing. The best month to surf Wishing Well is January.
