📍 Local Knowledge

Wilderness in Puerto Rico is a reasonably exposed reef break that offers fairly consistent surf throughout the year, though it tends to be flatter during summer. The spot works best with north swells and offshore winds from the east, producing right-hand reef waves that perform well at all stages of the tide. When conditions are favorable, it can get quite busy. Surfers should be cautious of rocks, rips, and sea urchins in the lineup. The best time for consistent, clean waves is typically during winter, particularly in December.
