📍 Local Knowledge

Tres Palmas (Rincon) in Puerto Rico is a fairly exposed reef break with inconsistent surf and no distinct seasonal pattern. It performs best with offshore winds from the east and swells from the west-northwest, receiving both windswells and groundswells. The spot can get quite busy when the waves are up, and surfers should watch out for urchins and rocks. The best time for consistent, clean waves is during winter, especially in January.
