📍 Local Knowledge

Middles in Puerto Rico is a reasonably exposed beach and reef break that delivers fairly consistent surf throughout the year, working best with northeast groundswells and offshore winds from the south, though the area is fully exposed to cross-shore breezes. The wave is primarily a right-hand reef break rather than a true beach break, producing powerful, well-defined walls when conditions line up. It is a popular spot and can become crowded, so awareness of other surfers, local etiquette, and submerged rocks is important. The most reliable period for clean, rideable waves is during autumn, with November typically offering the best conditions.
