📍 Local Knowledge

Los Tubos in Puerto Rico is a fairly exposed reef break with fairly consistent surf that can work year-round. It performs best with north-northeast swells and offshore winds from the south-southwest, receiving energy from both windswells and groundswells, though it remains exposed to cross-shore breezes. When conditions align, the wave quality is solid but crowds are common. Surfers should be cautious of sea urchins in the lineup. The most reliable clean surf typically occurs during winter, especially in November.
