POOR
Poor conditions right now. Tiny waves under 1ft with quality 10s ground swell but strong 15kt winds making it choppy Note: winds from S would be better. Might want to wait for better conditions.

📍 Local Knowledge

La Ocho is a popular reef break at Escambron Beach near Old San Juan that offers rideable waves with both lefts and rights breaking over a rocky reef and island reef out front, often producing head-high to overhead surf when swell is up. The waves are generally more forgiving and suitable for all levels, from beginners to advanced surfers, especially when southern winds are lighter and mornings are cleaner. While conditions vary with tide and wind, La Ocho sees more consistent surf from late fall through early spring with swell energy from northern directions, making it a fun, accessible urban break. The best month to surf La Ocho for reliable swell and cleaner conditions is November.
