📍 Local Knowledge

Colombus in Puerto Rico is a fairly exposed reef break that offers fairly consistent surf year-round, with the best conditions arising from northwest swells combined with offshore winds from the southeast. The spot receives a mix of groundswells and windswells and works well at all tide stages. While there is no reef break here, surfers should be cautious of hazards including urchins, rips, rocks, localism, pollution, and sharks. The spot can sometimes get crowded. The prime time for consistent, clean waves is during winter, particularly in January.
