📍 Local Knowledge
Cibuco is a beach and reef-influenced break on the north coast of Puerto Rico that generally offers small to modest rideable surf, often in the thigh-to-waist high range when swell is present. The waves tend to be poorer to fair in quality under typical trade swell and onshore wind conditions, with the cleanest rides usually found during lighter winds and early mornings. While not a heavy or powerful spot, Cibuco can still provide accessible, fun waves when local swell hits, and it works across a range of tide levels for different setups. The best month to surf Cibuco for more consistent and rideable conditions is August.
