Tamaris is a fairly exposed reef break that offers quite reliable surf, particularly during the winter months. It performs best with a south swell and offshore winds from the north, benefiting from some natural shelter against southeasterly winds. While groundswells are possible, the majority of the surf arrives in the form of local windswells. When conditions are optimal, the lineup is prone to becoming crowded, and surfers should remain alert for submerged rocks, which are a primary hazard at this location.
