L'Olivette in Côte d'Azur is a sheltered reef break that offers its most reliable surfing opportunities during the winter months. It performs best when a southwest swell combines with offshore winds from the north; while local windswells are the most frequent source of energy, groundswells do occasionally reach the area. Despite its reef classification, there is no distinct reef break at this location, though the surf remains rideable at all stages of the tide. A significant draw for this spot is that it attracts relatively few surfers, even on days with good conditions. However, those entering the water should remain vigilant and watch out for hazards such as sea urchins and submerged rocks.
