📍 Local Knowledge
Les Bormettes in Côte d'Azur is an exposed breakwater break that offers its best surfing opportunities during the winter months. It performs best with a south-southwest swell and offshore winds from the north, benefiting from some natural shelter provided by the northerly wind direction. While local windswells are the primary source of energy, groundswells do occasionally reach the area. The breakwater produces both left and right-hand waves and is notably versatile, as the surf remains rideable at all stages of the tide. A significant advantage of this spot is that it remains uncrowded, even when the conditions are working well. However, surfers should remain alert for submerged rocks within the lineup.
