📍 Local Knowledge

L'Arquet in Côte d'Azur is a quite exposed break with inconsistent surf, making autumn and winter the most favorable seasons for waves. It performs best with a west-southwest swell and offshore winds from the north; while local windswells are most common, groundswells do occasionally make an appearance. Despite its reef classification, there is no distinct reef break here, and the spot is tide-dependent, working best around a rising high tide. The waves often feature steep faces and the lineup is frequently crowded, often accompanied by a degree of localism. Surfers must navigate several hazards, including submerged rocks, sea urchins, and nearby cliffs.
