Zavial is a fairly exposed beach break in Algarve that only works occasionally, with Winter being the best time of year for surfing, featuring both left and right-hand waves. The most favorable conditions are a South-Southwest groundswell combined with offshore winds from the Northwest. The break works best around mid tide. The spot is rarely crowded, but surfers should be aware of dangerous rips. The best time for consistent, clean waves is typically in March.
