📍 Local Knowledge

São Lourenço in Portugal is a powerful reef and beach break, considered Ericeira's northernmost and big-wave spot, best for intermediate to advanced surfers. The main break is a long, consistent right-hander over a rocky platform that can handle swells up to 5 meters. Best conditions are Northwest swells and offshore East winds, ideally on a low to mid-tide. It is less crowded than central Ericeira spots. Hazards include shallow reef, strong currents, and a heavy shore break at high tide. Reliable, powerful waves are most common in autumn and winter.
