πŸ“ Local Knowledge

Rocha Negra is a very sheltered right-hand reef break in Algarve that has inconsistent surf, with Winter being the optimum time of year for surfing. The most favorable conditions are a South swell combined with offshore winds from the Northwest. The break works best around high tide. The spot very rarely gets crowded. Surfers should be aware of rocks and pollution. The best time for consistent, clean waves is typically in January.
