Ribeira Quente on Ilha de São Miguel in the Azores is a fairly exposed left-hand reef break with inconsistent surf and no strong seasonal pattern. It works best with south to southwest swells and offshore winds from the north, with some natural shelter from westerly winds. The spot picks up both local windswells and distant groundswells, and is typically uncrowded even when the surf is up. Surfers should be cautious of rocky hazards in the lineup.
