Punta da Caldeira

Punta da Caldeira on Ilha de São Jorge in the Azores is an exposed left-hand point break with quite reliable surf, especially in autumn and winter. It works best with north to north-northwest swells and offshore winds from the southwest, receiving both windswells and groundswells in equal measure. The break is relatively uncrowded, even on good days. The best month to surf Punta da Caldeira is February, when winter swells and offshore winds most consistently produce clean, rideable waves.
