📍 Local Knowledge
Praia do Mirouço in the Algarve is an exposed beach break that offers fairly consistent surf, although it can be unreliable during the summer months. This spot provides both left and right-hand waves from a mix of groundswells and windswells; while it is a remote and wild location that very rarely gets crowded, visitors should be mindful of the rocky sections—particularly at the southern end of the beach—and remain vigilant regarding strong Atlantic rip currents. The best conditions occur when a Northwest swell combines with East or Northeast offshore winds, with the winter months being the most consistent time of year for clean, rideable waves.
