πŸ“ Local Knowledge

Praia da Amorosa is an exposed beach and reef break in Douro and Minho that offers fairly consistent surf year-round, featuring both left and right-hand beach and reef breaks. The most favorable conditions are a West swell (from both windswells and groundswells) combined with offshore winds from the East-Northeast. The break provides good surf at all stages of the tide. The spot is a fairly popular wave that can sometimes get crowded, and surfers should be aware of dangerous rips. The best time for consistent, clean waves is typically in December.
