πŸ“ Local Knowledge

Praia Castelejo is an exposed beach and reef break in South Portugal that offers very consistent surf, featuring both left and right-hand waves. The most favorable time of year for waves is autumn. The most favorable conditions are a Northwest swell from a mix of groundswells and windswells combined with offshore winds from the Southeast. When the surf is working, it can get crowded. Surfers should be aware of rips, rocks, and locals. The best time for consistent, clean waves is typically in October.
