Ponta dos Mosteiros on Ilha de São Miguel in the Azores is an exposed reef break with very reliable surf year-round. It works best with northwest swells and offshore winds from the southeast, receiving both local windswells and distant groundswells. The break offers both left and right reef waves and remains relatively uncrowded, even on good days. The best month to surf Ponta dos Mosteiros is February, when winter swells and offshore winds most consistently deliver clean, rideable waves.
