πŸ“ Local Knowledge

Luz is an exposed reef/jetty break in North Portugal that offers pretty consistent surf year-round, featuring a right-hand reef break. The most favorable conditions are a West groundswell combined with offshore winds from the East. The break works best around high tide. When the surf is up, crowds are likely. Surfers should be aware of urchins, rips, rocks, man-made danger (buoys etc...), and pollution. The best time for consistent, clean waves is typically in December.
