Kings Rock is an exposed left-hand reef break in Douro and Minho that offers fairly consistent surf and can work year-round. The most favorable conditions are a Southwest swell (from both windswells and groundswells) combined with offshore winds from the East-Northeast. The break is uncrowded, even when it is working. The best time for consistent, clean waves is typically in February.
