πŸ“ Local Knowledge

Faja dos Cubres on Ilha de SΓ£o Jorge in the Azores is an exposed beach and point break with fairly consistent surf, especially in autumn and winter. It works best with north to north-northwest swells and offshore winds from the southwest, receiving both groundswells and windswells equally. The beach break offers both left and right waves and is rarely crowded. Surfers should be cautious of rocks. The best month to surf Faja dos Cubres is January, when winter swells and offshore winds most reliably produce clean, rideable waves.
