📍 Local Knowledge

Costa Nova is an exposed beach/jetty break in North Portugal that offers fairly consistent surf year-round, featuring both left and right-hand waves. The most favorable conditions are a West swell from windswells or groundswells combined with offshore winds from the East. The break provides good surf at all stages of the tide. The spot is sometimes crowded. Surfers should be aware of pollution and rips. The best time for consistent, clean waves is typically in December.
