📍 Local Knowledge

Consolação in Peniche is an exposed point break that performs best with swells from the southwest and offshore winds from the northeast. This spot offers powerful, well-shaped right-hand waves breaking over a rocky reef, working best around low tide on the falling tide. It’s an inconsistent wave, especially flat during summer, but can deliver clean, quality surf when conditions align. Crowds are rare, offering plenty of space even on good days. Caution is advised due to sharp rocks and sea urchins in the lineup. The best surf typically occurs during winter, particularly in April.
