πŸ“ Local Knowledge

Cerro is a very consistent beach break in Peniche (Central Portugal) that offers left and right-hand waves over a sandy bottom. The spot is sheltered and ideal for Beginner to Intermediate surfers seeking a mellow, less-intense session. The most favorable conditions are a North or Northwest swell combined with offshore winds from the South or Southeast. The break works best from mid to high tide. The spot is generally uncrowded to moderately crowded with surf schools and tourists, and the vibe is welcoming. Surfers should be aware of rocks if surfing close to the west cliffs. The best time for consistent, clean waves is typically in Winter, particularly January.
