πŸ“ Local Knowledge

Bicas in Lisbon is an exposed reef break that tends to be flat during the summer months. The spot works best with swells from the west and offshore winds from the southeast, producing a quality left-hand reef wave that performs best around mid tide. The prime season for surfing Bicas is during winter, particularly in December, when clean, consistent surf is most common. The break can get somewhat crowded at times, so surfers should be cautious of rips, rocks, and sea urchins in the area.
