πŸ“ Local Knowledge

Baleal Reef is a fairly exposed beach break in Peniche that offers reasonably consistent surf year-round, featuring a left-hand reef break. The most favorable conditions are a North-Northwest swell from groundswells or windswells combined with offshore winds from the South-Southwest. The spot is a fairly popular wave that can sometimes get crowded. Surfers should be aware of locals and pollution. The best time for consistent, clean waves is typically in January.
