πŸ“ Local Knowledge

Arrifana is a fairly exposed beach and reef break in South Portugal that offers consistent surf year-round, featuring both left and right-hand beach breaks, as well as a right-hand reef break. The most favorable conditions are a Northwest groundswell combined with offshore winds from the Northeast. The break provides good surf at all stages of the tide. The spot is a fairly popular wave that can sometimes get crowded. Surfers should be aware of rocks. The best time for consistent, clean waves is typically in January.
