L'Aubraie, located just north of Les Sables-d'Olonne, is an exposed beach break known for providing pretty consistent surf, though it typically goes flat during the summer months. This spot is highly versatile as it offers good surf at all stages of the tide, making it a reliable choice when other nearby spots might be tide-sensitive. It produces both left and right-hand peaks from a balanced mix of local windswells and distant groundswells, favoring a West-southwest swell angle. However, surfers should be cautious, as the area is known for strong rip currents and submerged rocks. The best conditions occur when that West-southwest swell meets Northeast offshore winds, with March and the Spring season being the prime time for consistent, clean waves.
