📍 Local Knowledge

Indian Beach in North Oregon is an exposed beach break that offers consistent surf, especially during winter months, with January often providing the best conditions. The spot receives a reliable mix of groundswells and windswells, with the optimal swell direction coming from the southwest. Clean waves are most likely when a southwest swell coincides with offshore winds from the east, which are partially sheltered from northwest winds. The beach features both left and right-hand waves and works best around mid-tide on a rising tide. While rarely crowded, surfers should be aware of hazards including rips, rocks, and occasional shark presence.
