📍 Local Knowledge

Cape Lookout in North Oregon is an exposed beach, reef, and point break known for its reliable surf. The best conditions typically occur in spring and summer, with ideal offshore winds from the east and some shelter from north winds. The spot receives both local windswells and distant groundswells, with the optimal swell direction from the west. Waves break both left and right and the break works well at all tide stages. It is rarely crowded, but surfers should be cautious of rip currents and rocky areas. The most consistent clean waves are found during winter, especially in October, when offshore winds combine with west swells.
