Maguelone in Languedoc-Roussillon is a quite exposed beach break that works infrequently, with the summer months typically remaining flat. It performs best with a southeast swell and offshore winds from the north, though the spot also offers some shelter from northeasterly winds. While it usually relies on local windswells, groundswells do occasionally occur, typically producing left-hand peeling waves. A notable advantage is that the surf quality remains consistent regardless of the tide; however, the spot is likely to be crowded when it is working. Surfers should remain vigilant regarding hazards such as strong rips, undertow, a nearby jetty, potential pollution, and a degree of localism.
