πŸ“ Local Knowledge

La Guillotine in Languedoc-Roussillon is a fairly exposed sandbar break with unreliable waves, making winter the most optimal time of year for a session. It performs best with a south swell and offshore winds from the north, though windswells are much more typical here than groundswells. The sandbar generally produces left-hand peeling waves and is notably versatile, as it remains surfable at all stages of the tide. When the surf is up, the water can become quite busy, and surfers should be aware of a degree of localism at this spot.
