Vieux-Boucau in Aquitaine is a dependable exposed beach break that offers consistent surf throughout the year. This spot produces rideable waves fueled equally by local windswells and distant groundswells, typically working best with a West swell. Despite its reliability, the expansive nature of the beach means it is unlikely to be too crowded, even when the surf is up. While the general offshore flow is from the East, the absolute best conditions are reported when the wind shifts slightly to the East-southeast. As with much of this coastline, October is the prime month for clean, consistent sessions.
