📍 Local Knowledge

Ondres Plage in Landes is an exposed sandbar break that offers pretty consistent surf and can work at any time of the year. This spot provides both left and right-hand waves fueled by a mix of groundswells and windswells; a major advantage of this location is that it is rarely crowded, offering a quieter alternative to the busier peaks further south. However, surfers must remain extremely vigilant of strong rip currents and undertow, which are common here. The best conditions occur when a Northwest swell combines with Southeast offshore winds, with October being the prime month for consistent, clean waves.
