📍 Local Knowledge

Le Verdon in the Gironde is an exposed beach break located at the very tip of the Médoc peninsula. It is known for having inconsistent surf, with the summer months being particularly prone to flat spells. This spot offers both left and right-hand waves fueled by an equal mix of windswells and groundswells. A significant advantage of Le Verdon is that it very rarely gets crowded; however, surfers must be cautious of strong rip currents, undertow, and potential water pollution. The best conditions occur when a West swell combines with Southeast offshore winds, with October being the most reliable month for consistent, clean waves.
