Passe du Trillou on the Île d’Oléron is an exposed beach break known for its relatively unreliable surf, lacking a dominant seasonal pattern and requiring specific conditions to switch on. When it does work, the spot produces both left and right-hand waves fueled by a mix of groundswells and local windswells. A major draw is the lack of crowds, though surfers must be wary of submerged rocks. The best conditions are found when a West swell combines with East-northeast offshore winds, with October typically offering the most consistent windows for clean waves.
