📍 Local Knowledge

Les Trois Pierres, often associated with the northern stretch of Les Huttes on the Île d'Oléron, is an exposed beach break that offers reasonably consistent surf year-round. While it shares the coastline with Les Huttes, this specific section favors a Southwest swell paired with Southeast offshore winds. The break provides both left and right-hand waves and, typical for this part of the island, performs best around high tide. Surfers should be particularly wary of dangerous rip currents, which are a known hazard here. The best conditions occur in October, but the most consistent clean waves are often found during the Winter months.
