πŸ“ Local Knowledge

Rivedoux on the Île de Ré is an exposed beach break that is known for being quite fickle, only working once in a while without a predictable seasonal pattern. Because it sits on the southeastern side of the island near the bridge, it requires a significant Northwest swell to wrap around the coast. Interestingly, it performs best with South-southwest offshore winds, which is quite specific for this area. The beach offers both left and right-hand waves and, due to its inconsistent nature, it is unlikely to be crowded even when the waves are breaking. The best conditions typically occur in November and throughout the Winter months.
