📍 Local Knowledge

Hourtin Plage in Aquitaine is an exposed beach break known for its dependable surf, offering rideable waves year-round. This spot produces both left and right-handers fueled by an equal mix of local windswells and distant groundswells. Unlike some neighboring breaks, Hourtin performs best around low tide. Because of its reliability, it is a fairly popular wave and can sometimes become crowded when the conditions align. The best surf is reported when a West swell meets East offshore winds, with October being the prime month for consistent, clean conditions.
