Hossegor - La Sud in Landes is an exposed beach break that offers quite reliable surf and can work at any time of the year. Often more sheltered than the heavy peaks further north, this spot provides both left and right-hand waves fueled by an equal measure of local windswells and distant groundswells. While it is a popular choice for various skill levels, it can get quite busy in the water when the conditions are good. The best conditions occur when a West swell combines with East-southeast offshore winds, with October being the prime month for consistent, clean waves.
