Grande Plage in La Côte Basque is an exposed beach break that offers reasonably consistent surf and can work at any time of the year. This spot provides both left and right-hand waves fueled by an equal measure of windswells and groundswells; while it offers some shelter from south winds and is best with an easterly offshore breeze, visitors should be prepared for heavy crowds and potential pollution when the surf is up. The best conditions occur when a West swell combines with East offshore winds, with October being the prime month for consistent, clean waves.
