📍 Local Knowledge

Dead Zone in the Gironde is an exposed beach break known for its seclusion and versatility. This spot produces both left and right-hand waves fueled by an equal measure of windswells and groundswells. A significant advantage of Dead Zone is that it typically offers good surf at all stages of the tide and is rarely crowded. However, surfers should be mindful of the "Private" nature of certain access points or surrounding land. The best conditions occur when a West swell combines with East-northeast offshore winds, with October being the prime month for finding consistent, clean waves.
