📍 Local Knowledge

Cap Ferret in Aquitaine is an exposed beach break that generally provides waves throughout the year, though it is prone to flat spells during the summer. Unlike many of its northern neighbors that favor a pure west swell, this spot performs best with a Northwest swell paired with East offshore winds. The break offers both lefts and rights primarily driven by groundswells. While it is unlikely to be crowded even when the surf is up, surfers must be extremely cautious of dangerous rip currents which are a significant hazard in this area. October is the prime month for finding consistent, clean, and rideable waves.
