πŸ“ Local Knowledge

The Bluff–South Side (Northland) is an exposed beach and reef break offering reasonably consistent surf. It works best with a northwest swell and northeast offshore winds, producing both left and right reef breaks. The optimal conditions occur around mid-tide on a rising tide, with the most consistent clean waves during winter, especially in February. Swell is primarily from groundswells, and the lineup is usually uncrowded, though surfers should beware of strong rips and sharks.
