Shipwrecks Bay – Peaks (Northland): A sheltered left-hand reef break known for its reliable surf, Shipwrecks Bay–Peaks works best with a southwest swell and southerly offshore winds. The wave performs best around low to rising tide and is surfable even in light onshore breezes. It mainly receives distant groundswells, offering clean, consistent waves particularly during winter, with October being the prime month. The spot is rarely crowded, but surfers should beware of rips and submerged rocks.
