Triple S Pier in North Carolina is an exposed beach and jetty break with reasonably consistent surf that can work year-round. The best conditions occur when a south swell aligns with offshore winds from the north-northwest, producing a mix of left and right-hand waves. The spot handles both windswells and groundswells effectively and is surfable at all stages of the tide. Despite its reliability, Triple S Pier remains largely uncrowded—even when the surf is good—offering a quieter alternative to more popular breaks. Surfers should be cautious of hazards such as urchins, rip currents, man-made obstacles like buoys, and sharks. The most favorable conditions are typically found in winter, with January being the peak month for clean, rideable waves.
